It is my mission to create a space that invites you to participate in reclaiming your life, a space that cultivates insightful reflection, a space that encourages you to find emotional, physical, and spiritual balance, and a space that supports you to identify meaning through your suffering.

It would be an honor to help on your sacred journey to healing. Together, we establish a space in which we work to realize your strengths and empower your individual authenticity.

MY PRACTICE PHILOSOPHY

I integrate affirmation, humor, challenge, and a direct and honest approach in my sessions. My first few sessions are set up as an interview process to ensure quality of care on my end, and for you to determine your sense of emotional safety. Without a strong relationship, there may be barriers not seen but felt, and could make it difficult to be wholeheartedly honest if there is a lack of emotional safety. Without honesty there is little to no room for meaningful change. The first session will usually last around 90 minutes as it is set up as an interview process with completion of paperwork, and may require crisis management care. Sessions following the initial intake appointment are approximately 60 minutes and may vary depending on your needs.

I was born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I went on to become certified by the State Board of Education, teaching 5th grade for two years. I pursued a Master’s in Education from the University of Central Oklahoma, spending a portion of my time working for a not-for profit community mental health agency in Oklahoma City as a Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Specialist. Upon graduation, I practiced as a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate providing office-based therapy for children and families, learning evidence-based practices for treating developmental trauma, and providing crisis care — school-based and office-based crisis intervention services. In August of 2016 I completed over 3,000 hours of supervised experience and was approved by the Oklahoma State Board of Behavioral Health to practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor. In November of 2017 I began my private practice in Norman, Oklahoma at the Hope Springs Building and as of January 1, 2019 began practicing in Oklahoma City, as well.

My professional interests include providing individuals with research-based psychoeducation, exploring strategies of coping, reprocessing stressful experiences, empowering individuals toward positive self-esteem, and helping adolescents, adults, and families to process life transitions. My focus is collaborative and integrative, and the methodology used is based upon the unique needs of each person. It would be an honor to walk with you on your sacred journey to healing. I welcome you to come as you are!
